TERMS AND CONDITIONS

EDGARS CLUB TERMS & CONDITIONS (060224a):

  1. Edgars Club is administered by Crave Rewards on behalf of Retailability (Pty) Ltd.
  2. Joining via Edgars account:
    • Members authorise RCS on behalf of Edgars Club to debit their account with the agreed-upon amount.
    • The initial membership fee will be debited to the following month’s Edgars account.
    • Membership fees will continue to be debited every month thereafter.
    • To opt out before being debited, email customercare@edgarsclub.co.za before close of business on the final working day of the month in which the application was processed.
    • Benefits may not be charged to an Edgars account.
  3. Joining via debit order:
    • Members authorise Retailability on behalf of Edgars Club to debit their account with the agreed-upon amount.
    • Debits will reflect with EDGARSCLUB as prefix.
    • Membership fee will be deducted on the selected debit order date of each month for the duration of the contract with the Club membership number as payment reference. If the application date equals the selected payment date, the initial membership fee will be deducted on the chosen payment date of the next month from the bank account as chosen by the Edgars Club member when completing their e-mandate.
    • If the collection date of the instruction falls on a non-processing day (weekend or public holiday), the payment instruction will be debited on the business day directly prior to or following the non-processing day.
    • To opt out before being debited, email customercare@edgarsclub.co.za before close of business on the final working day of the month in which the application was processed.
  4. Joining via Payfast:
    • Members authorise Payfast on behalf of Edgars Club to debit their account with the agreed-upon amount.
    • Debits will reflect with PAYFAST*Edgars as prefix.
    • The initial membership fee will be debited on the first of the following month via the selected payment channel.
    • If the collection date of the instruction falls on a non-processing day (weekend or public holiday), the payment instruction may be debited on the business day directly prior to or following the non-processing day.
    • To opt out before being debited, email customercare@edgarsclub.co.za before close of business on the final working day of the month in which the application was processed.
  5. Joining via up-front payment:
    • Members will pay the selected up-front amount and will be subscribed for the corresponding number of calendar months, commencing the month after payment is received.
    • Thereafter, members will be required to renew their membership on or before the last day of the last month of the subscription period in order for the membership to remain active, and for benefits to continue to be accessible.
    • Should the membership not be renewed, the membership will be cancelled.
  6. Joining via a 3rd party:
    • a. In the event of a 3rd party membership fee default, upon which Edgars Club eligibility is reliant upon, the member will forfeit access to their Edgars Club benefits until such time as the membership fee is successfully collected. Edgars Club will not be liable for a refund for any loss due to benefits being inaccessible during any period of default.
  7. Membership upgrades – provided a membership tier upgrade is requested before close of business on the last working day of the month, the upgrade will be effective from the 1st of the following month, whereupon the membership fee will be adjusted to the applicable, prevailing rate. Should the upgrade request be made after this time, it will be effective from the month thereafter.
    Up-front subscribers – Please purchase a new up-front membership in the final month of the existing subscription period. The upgrade will be effective after the current subscription period ends.
  8. Membership downgrades – provided a membership tier downgrade is requested before close of business on the last working day of the month, the downgrade will be effective from the 1st of the following month, whereupon the membership fee will be adjusted to the applicable, prevailing rate. Should the downgrade request be made after this time, it will be effective from the month thereafter. Downgrades may only be requested via Edgars Club Customer Care once every 90 days.
    Up-front subscribers – Please purchase a new up-front membership in the final month of the existing subscription period. The downgrade will be effective after the current subscription period ends.
  9. Resignation – to resign, Edgars Club must be contacted either telephonically or in writing via email prior to close of business on the final working day of the month. Cancellation will be effective from the 1st of the month following the month that notice is given. By way of example:
    • Member resigns on November 26 – cancellation will be effective from 1 December.
      Up-front subscribers: membership continues until the subscription term is completed. To resign prior to this, Edgars Club must be contacted either telephonically or in writing via email prior to close of business on the final working day of the month. Cancellation will be effective from the 1st of the month following the month that notice is given. By way of example:
    • Member resigns on November 26 – cancellation will be effective from 1 December. A refund for the remaining fees will be calculated pro-rata and any refund due will be made within 10 working days. For upfront subscribers, a handling fee, equivalent to one month’s membership fees at the prevailing rate, will apply upon cancellation.
      Upon cancellation, access to all Edgars Club benefits will cease.
  10. In the event of an Edgars Club membership fee default, the member will forfeit access to their Edgars Club benefits until such time as the membership fee is successfully collected, unless specified in benefit specific clauses. Edgars Club will not be liable for a refund for any loss due to benefits being inaccessible during any period of default.
  11. Members may not re-join Edgars Club for a period of 180 days subsequent to cancellation. Acceptance of new applications will be at the discretion of Edgars Club.
  12. Benefits will take up to 5 days to activate, unless otherwise specified. A welcome SMS or email containing the Edgars Club membership number will be sent upon activation.
  13. Benefits may be utilised by the main member only, unless otherwise specified. Membership is not transferable. The main member minimum age is 18 years old.
  14. Benefit partners reserve the right to change or withdraw benefits and discounts at any time. Members will have no claim against Edgars Club in this event.
  15. Edgars Club benefit partners reserve the right to refuse benefits and discounts if membership is invalid.
  16. Edgars Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate a membership if there is any misconduct, wrongdoing or fraudulent use suspected or confirmed. Edgars Club will not be liable for any refunds whatsoever in the case of any suspension or termination.
  17. New benefit partners may be added to the Edgars Club programme, in which event members will be advised via the website, email or SMS, and social media.
  18. Membership fees will be adjusted annually.
  19. An active Edgars Club membership is required for the full period of subscription to any benefit offers whereby a secondary membership subscription is required. These secondary membership fees will revert to full price should Edgars Club membership be deactivated for whatever reason. Up-front subscribers – please ensure that your membership is renewed prior to your current term lapsing in order to continue being eligible for any discounted rate/s.
  20. Edgars Club processes and terms & conditions may be amended from time-to-time.
  21. Certain benefits rely on the Edgars Club member’s ID number and cellphone number being current and active. It is the responsibility of the member to advise Edgars Club telephonically or in writing of any changes to personal details. Edgars Club will not be held liable for any loss due to missing/incorrect/outdated personal details.

  23. Failure to enforce any processes or terms & conditions in any instance will not imply the future lack of enforcement thereof.
  24. Retailability has assumed the management and running of Edgars Club and takes responsibility for all obligations and liabilities effective from 1 October 2020.

JOIN & WIN A LUXURY BUSH GETAWAY FOR TWO

  1. INTRODUCTION
    • The Join & Win a Luxury Bush Getaway for Two competition is being run by RETAILABILITY, CRAVE REWARDS and EDGARS CLUB (“Organiser/we/us/our”).
    • Each person entering the Competition (“participants/entrants/you/your”) and/or accepting any prize in terms of this Competition, agrees and accepts that the Competition rules as set out in these terms and conditions (“Rules”) are binding on them.

  2. COMPETITION PERIOD
    • The Competition commences at 00:00 on 1st September 2024 and ends at 23.59 on 31st October 2024.
  3. WHO CAN ENTER
    • To be eligible to enter the Competition, you must:
      • be a legal, permanent resident of the Republic of South Africa; and
      • be in possession of a valid identity document with a 13 (thirteen) digit identity number, or South African passport; and
      • be 18 (eighteen) years old or older on the date you enter; and
      • be a natural person; and
      • not be barred or disqualified by any authority from taking delivery and transfer of the Prize or any portion thereof.
    • Notwithstanding the above clause, you are not eligible to enter this Competition if:
      • you are a director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Organiser, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Organisers; or
      • you are a supplier of goods or services in connection with the Competition.
  4. HOW TO ENTER
    • Entrant must join Edgars Club via any of the available channels (online at www.edgarsclub.co.za / in-store at any Edgars store / telephonically) between 1 September 2024 and 31 October 2024.
    • Customer can choose to join 1 of 3 membership tiers – Access, Life or VIP.

  6. DETERMINATION OF WINNERS
    • Winners will be drawn through an automatic, random draw process.
    • The winner will be announced on 11 November 2024.
    • Only active Edgars Club members at time of draw will qualify to win the prize.
    • Members will be required to have an active Edgars Club membership at the time of redeeming the prize and for the full travel period.
    • The prize winner will be contacted and notified via telephone call and/or email that they are a winner and how to redeem the prizes. The winner may be required to provide the following documentation: a valid SA ID/passport copy, a photographic image of themselves to be published on all sponsors social media pages. If required, the potential winner will have 48 hours to submit the relevant documentation before forfeiting the prize. Failure to do so will result in a disqualification.
  7. PRIZE/S
      • A 3 night-stay for 2 people at Lions Valley Lodge, situated in the Nambiti Private Game Reserve. Includes: accommodation, welcome drinks on arrival, 3 meals per day, tea & coffee throughout the day, 2 game drives per full day.
      • 2 x return “Standard fare” domestic flights from FlySafair (maximum value – R6 000).

      • The prize/s are not redeemable for cash.
      • The prize/s are only valid for the prize winner plus one other person, who must accompany the prize winner.
      • The winners will use the prizes at their own risk. The Organisers will not be liable for any loss, damage, personal injury, or death that is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize.
  8. GENERAL TERMS
    • The Organiser may in its sole discretion amend these rules at any time, without notice, and such amendment(s) shall be deemed to have taken effect from the date of publication of the revised rules on the website.
    • The Organiser will interpret the rules in their sole discretion and reserve the right to amend the rules at any time should it be deemed necessary in the sole and unfettered discretion of the organisers.
    • If you are not eligible to enter the competition in terms of clause 3 above, you will forfeit any prize that may be allocated to you in terms of this competition. The organisers reserve the right to request you to provide necessary proof that you have met the eligibility requirements. Should you fail to provide such proof within a reasonable time, you will be disqualified, and any prizes will be forfeited and returned if applicable.
    • The organiser may collect, store and use any personal information of entrants and/or other participants for communication or statistical purposes. By entering the competition, you expressly consent to the aforesaid use.
    • In the event of a dispute, the decision of the organiser will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. in this regard and for further clarity, the organiser shall be entitled to deal with such disputes (or any failure by participants to follow the rules) in their sole discretion, including that the organiser shall be entitled, in addition to any other rights which the organiser may have in terms of these rules and/or the general competition rules, to immediately disqualify participants from this competition.
    • By entering the competition and/or accepting any prize, the entrants, users and/or winners hereby indemnify, release and hold harmless the organiser (including its subsidiaries, holding companies and affiliates), its directors, employees, agents, suppliers and contractors (the “organiser parties”) from and against any actions, claims and/or liability for injury, loss, damage, expense, claim or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the competition, and/or the use, acceptance or possession of a prize, and/or participation (or non-participation) in a prize-related activity.
    • The organiser reserves the right to terminate the competition at any time with immediate effect. if this is the case, the organiser will provide a notice on the website. it shall be the responsibility of entrants to review such website in this respect. in such event, all entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against any of the organiser parties and acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature against the organiser parties.
    • All personal information you provide to us will only be processed (as such term is defined in the Protection of Personal Information act, no 4 of 2013 (the “act”)) for the purposes of the competition and otherwise in accordance with the provisions of the act. in this regard, all personal information you provide to us will be treated in accordance with our privacy policy. your personal details will not be published on the site (unless agreed otherwise) or sold to any third party.
    • The organiser is not liable for any technical failure that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
    • Any prize is accepted by a winner at his/her own risk and the organiser is not liable, at any time, for any defect in the prize.
    • Where relevant, if a winner does not accept the Prize as required herein, if an entry is not valid for whatever reason, if a Winner has breached these terms and conditions, if a Winner renounces the Prize or we deem such Winner to have renounced the Prize, we reserve the right to declare the Prize forfeited and/or choose a new Winner.
    • Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit, or avoid any rights or obligations created for either the entrants or the organisers in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.
    • The duration of this Competition may also be extended or curtailed at the sole discretion of the Organiser. If this is the case, the Organiser will provide notice of this on the various marketing communications.

9. FlySafair Terms

    • Your FlySafair flight voucher is valid for domestic flights only. Winners must ensure that their travel using the above flight vouchers must be concluded prior to 30 November 2025.
    • Passenger passport details will be required when booking.
    • It is the prize winner’s responsibility to ensure all the required travel, visa, medical, and Covid19-related documentation can be provided if required.
    • Changes to a booking will result in the FlySafair booking change fees and changes in airfare applying. This cost will be for the prize winner’s account.
    • The flight voucher is subject to availability.
    • Your flight voucher includes the full airfare, taxes, and fees for two domestic return “Standard Fare” tickets to the value of R6 000. Additional services are not included in the prize but can be added at the applicable fees to your flight booking by contacting FlySafair.
    • The prize winner will be responsible for any amount in excess of the flight voucher value.
    • Tickets are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

    • The Europcar voucher is valid until 30 November 2025 and is redeemable online or in-store.

Computicket

  1. Please note that discounts are applicable on the selected Computicket deals that are advertised on the Edgars Club website and Edgars Club marketing material and are subject to change without notice.
  2. The Computicket deals are only available through Edgars Club via the Edgars Club Contact Centre and not directly through Computicket.
  3. Tickets are limited and will be provided on a first come first serve basis.
  4. Edgars Club cannot guarantee availability until payment is made and proof of payment is received.
  5. Once payment reflects in the service providers bank account, the tickets will be booked depending on availability. An SMS or email will be sent to the Member with the code which can be redeemed at any Shoprite, Checkers or Computicket outlet.
  6. If payment has been made to the service provider by the Member and if the tickets are not available due to availability, the service provider will refund the Member the full amount paid by the Member.
  7. Tickets cannot be cancelled, refunded or amended once booked.
  8. Prices of the tickets on selected deals may increase due to availability. Members will be required to pay the difference.
  9. Events are only available to the main member.
  10. Computicket deals will change from month to month and terms and conditions apply.
  11. Standard rates apply.

Event Tickets

Please note the terms of the benefit offer prior to usage.

  1. In order to qualify for the benefit, two single event tickets must be purchased from the service provider for the same event date and time.
  2. The benefit is available to the active Edgars Club member only. Payment for the event tickets will be for the responsibility of the Edgars Club member, who must attend the event as well.
  3. Claims will only apply upon presentation of a tax invoice. The invoice must clearly display the service provider name, receipt number, VAT number, company registration number, event details and date.
  4. Claims will not be processed if the event details on the invoice do not match the authorisation details.
  5. Only invoices paid for via debit card, credit card or EFT are permitted. No cash purchases will be permitted.
  6. Pre-authorisation with Edgars Club Customer Care is required at least 48 hours prior to the event taking place. Backdated authorisations are not permitted.
  7. Only event tickets qualify for the benefit.
  8. The Edgars Club member will pay the service provider for a minimum of two event tickets and receive cashback of up to N$600 from the second most expensive ticket from Edgars Club, depending on membership tier.
  9. Cashback claims:
    1. must be submitted before the end of the month; and
    2. must include the following in the claim submission:
      • your pre-authorised reference number; and
      • the original event ticket invoice, which must clearly display the following details: event name, receipt number, date and amount paid; and
      • proof of payment, which can consist of: debit card or credit card slip or EFT proof of payment. At Edgars Club’s discretion, Edgars Club may request for additional proof of payment to be submitted along with any claims that are submitted e.g. front-of-card used or a bank statement. Failure to produce additional proof of payment when requested may result in the claim being declined and your eligibility to utilize the benefit being suspended or terminated.
  10. Edgars Club reserves the right to choose the participating service providers in the Benefit at its sole discretion and at any given time. The list of service providers is subject to change at any time.
  11. If a Member is an employee or owner of any of the service providers, they will not be allowed to use the Benefit at the said provider.
  12. All bookings are subject to the terms and conditions of each service provider.
  13. The event ticket benefit is only available through Edgars Club via the Edgars Club Contact Centre and not directly through the service provide (Web Tickets).
  14. Tickets are limited and will be provided on a first come first serve basis.
  15. Edgars Club cannot guarantee availability until payment is made and proof of payment is received.
  16. Service provider terms and conditions apply.
  17. During peak seasons, additional time may be required to process cashback reimbursements.
  18. Failure to adhere to, or any attempt to circumvent the Edgars Club terms and conditions, will result in eligibility to use the benefit being suspended or terminated. Edgars Club will not be liable for any membership fee refunds or unpaid claims whatsoever in the case of any suspension or termination. Furthermore, if any instances of fraud are uncovered, Edgars Club reserves the right to institute criminal proceedings against anyone suspected of committing fraud.

BOUNCE Inc

  1. Benefit provider terms and conditions apply.
  2. Specific exclusions apply to all benefits.
  3. Live/active Edgars Club memberships are required to access the BOUNCE Inc benefit.
  4. The benefit applies to the ticket types indicated in the offer only.
  5. The benefit does not apply to parties.
  6. The benefit cannot be used in conjunction with any special offers or promotions.
  7. BOUNCE grip socks are required and can be purchased at R30 per pair.
  8. Offers not applicable on public holidays.

Crave Dining Cashback

  1. Refund is processed by Crave and not the restaurant. Accordingly, please refer all Benefit queries to Crave.
  2. The Dining Cashback Benefit entitles the active member only, to a refund (cashback) on the second most expensive meal, provided:
    1. no less than 2 meals and 2 drinks are purchased per membership; and
    2. they have not exceeded their visits for that month (where applicable); and
    3. they are at least 18 years of age
  3. The cashback amount will be calculated as the second most expensive meal on the bill, up to a maximum of R120.00 (one hundred and twenty Rand). The cashback claim will be verified with the restaurant to ensure validity.
  4. The cashback claim will be processed within 4 working days unless otherwise specified. Over the December holiday period, claims will incur additional processing time.
  5.  The Dining Cashback Benefit:
    1. is valid for a specified list of restaurants only. Crave shall be entitled, in their sole and absolute discretion, to amend the list of restaurants from time to time. Crave shall endeavour to promptly update this list as and when any changes are made. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that all listed restaurants are trading, Crave will not be held liable in the event of any restaurant closures; and
    2. is based on the restaurant’s standard prices; and
    3. is not applicable with any special offers, promotions, discount vouchers or loyalty programs; and
    4. may be used in conjunction with Uber Pass; and
    5. may be used for takeaways and delivery where available; and
    6. may only be used once per restaurant per day; and
    7. does not apply to desserts, toppings, sides, “build your burger”, sharable platters, extras on burgers/pizzas etc; and
    8. applies to courses that include drinks provided it is not a special; and
    9. may not be used within 3 hours of a previous claim.
    10. may not be used at any restaurant at which the Member is employed.
  6. A maximum of two memberships may be used per table, provided they are under different names. Each member must request their own authorisation and claim separately. In the case of two claims submitted, the first claim processed will attract the bigger discount. The cashback amount will be calculated as follows:
    1. Membership 1: 2nd most expensive meal on the bill up to max R120.00, with a minimum of 2 drinks
    2. Membership 2: 4th most expensive meal on the bill up to max R120.00, with a minimum of 4 drinks
  7. Pre-authorisation is required in advance of ordering the meals. Authorisation is not a booking and is not a guarantee of a cashback refund. If required, a booking reservation should be made directly by the member with the restaurant.
  8. Cashback claims:
    1. must be submitted within one calendar month of the restaurant visit; and
    2. must be deposited into the bank account in the name of the member only; and
    3. must include the original restaurant receipt clearly displaying the restaurant name, receipt number, date, and time (card receipts not accepted). Crave Dining Cashback – Namibia

  1. Refund is processed by Crave and not the restaurant. Accordingly, please refer all Benefit queries to Crave.
  2. The Dining Cashback Benefit entitles the active member only, to a refund (cashback) on the second most expensive meal, provided:
    1. no less than 2 meals and 2 drinks are purchased per membership; and
    2. they have not exceeded their visits for that month (where applicable); and
    3. they are at least 18 years of age
  3. The cashback amount will be calculated as the second most expensive meal on the bill, up to a maximum of N$120.00 (one hundred and twenty Namibian Dollars). The cashback claim will be verified with the restaurant to ensure validity.
  4. The cashback claim will be processed within 7 working days unless otherwise specified. Over the December holiday period, claims will incur additional processing time.
  5. The Dining Cashback Benefit:
    1. is valid for a specified list of restaurants only. Crave shall be entitled, in their sole and absolute discretion, to amend the list of restaurants from time to time. Crave shall endeavour to promptly update this list as and when any changes are made. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that all listed restaurants are trading, Crave will not be held liable in the event of any restaurant closures; and
    2. is based on the restaurant’s standard prices; and
    3. is not applicable with any special offers, promotions, discount vouchers or loyalty programs; and
    4. may be used in conjunction with Uber Pass where avaialble; and
    5. may be used for takeaways and delivery where available; and
    6. may only be used once per restaurant per day; and
    7. does not apply to desserts, toppings, sides, “build your burger”, sharable platters, extras on burgers/pizzas etc; and
    8. applies to courses that include drinks provided it is not a special; and
    9. may not be used within 3 hours of a previous claim.
    10. may not be used at any restaurant at which the Member is employed.
  6. A maximum of two memberships may be used per table, provided they are under different names. Each member must request their own authorisation and claim separately. In the case of two claims submitted, the first claim processed will attract the bigger discount. The cashback amount will be calculated as follows:
      • Membership 1: 2nd most expensive meal on the bill up to max R120.00, with a minimum of 2 drinks
      • Membership 2: 4th most expensive meal on the bill up to max R120.00, with a minimum of 4 drinks

Funeral Cover – Hollard
